Actually each cage has two doors that swing out from the center. You can see the hinges in each corner or the glass. If I had it to do again I would probobly frame a single large piece of glass and have it swing down with hinges along the botton edge. The length of the doors that swing out makes them awkward to work around.



Another thought... Its hard to see in the pic but instead of using wood for a bedding gaurd I used plexiglass. I routered a groove in each shelf and siliconed in a 2 inch wide strip of plexi. That way you can make it as high as you want without obstructing your view.
