Alligator lizards aren't as easy sex as igaunas. They don't have pores (dots). You have to look for differences in head shape. This is only evident in mature animals (typically 2+ years old). Older males will have broader more traigular heads than females. With practice, you'll get better at evaluating the head shape of younger animals, where the differences are more subtle.
