I have one more quetion, my two alligator lizards are still inseparable, they lay on top of each other, they seem to go every where to gether and one of them is always digging, could they be looking for a place to lay eggs, how can I tell if they are male/female, is it the size of the dots by the vent like an iguana?

Alligator lizards aren't as easy sex as igaunas. They don't have pores (dots). You have to look for differences in head shape. This is only evident in mature animals (typically 2+ years old). Older males will have broader more traigular heads than females. With practice, you'll get better at evaluating the head shape of younger animals, where the differences are more subtle. Bellow is a picture of a pair, the male is on the left and female is on the right.
