I just moved him from repti-bark to aspen. He is shedding right now - and is having a rough time, which I have heard is common for them. I spray him a couple times a day with some skin conditioner and water - and spray his tank. I held him last night and did not notice the clicking noise - I will hold him again tomorrow and see what I hear.
