Agree with last post. Also live in Northeast (CT) redfoot for 24 years. No pyramiding. Never used UVB. Outside just June thru August. I do you UVB with my babies but more because it provides a soft light under which they are more active. They do not care for basking lights. Will bask under ceramic heater but never under bright light even if temps the exact same.
