Well done Nate!.. it is Malpolon monspessulanus or the 'Montpellier snake'.
If you have met one of these guys you never forget it.Look like a coachwhip...sound like a puff adder..with a nasty venomous bite!!..loads of attitude!!!
I would own one,but they are subject to a licence over here in the U.K.
