I'm with Tom...female. The head is narrow, where a male would be starting to show a wider head with more muscle at the jaws. Also, I think the tail would be wider at the base if the lack of bands on the tail is indicitave of a "certain age". The eyes look female to me. I know, that's a little peculiar to say, but just thought I'd throw in my two cents!
