Thanks for the ideas... That's one thing I was worried about when gluing the rocks together was the weight. They are glued pretty firmly, but I think I did it in such a way that even if the glue didn't hold, the rocks wouldn't fall on the snake and hurt it (they would stay in that position even if they weren't glued).

I've been thinking about a way to heat the rocks, but the snakes are kept in tubs so I don't know how I would do that.
