Hi there...I'm no expert but I do own a single one now[ always loved them] but about 10 yrs. ago I had a pair, I didn;t know what sex they were but found 6-7? eggs under a piece of slate[ which I incubated and hatched...cutest shiny things ever]but I didn't notice any change in their behavior or any type of problem with the female.So that was my experience..they got along perfectly and she was fine...don't know if that's the norm...Angie
