I have a crestie that had lost about 1/6 of her tail and regrew it. I've heard of other cresties regrowing parts of their tail if it's close to the tip. What I find unusual is the fact that yours is closer to the base. I'd be interested to find out exactly how much of that tail will get regrown. With mine, the only difference is the missing grip pad at the tip of the tail and the slight discoloration.
