No way 8 yrs is old for a sandboa. But a sandboa that is not in good condition, or improper cycling, or not enough food, or a male with non-viable sperm, plus the possible unknown factors and individual limitations can surely result in no production.

One breeder whose stock I saw had sandboas producing in their teens. And his setup was a plastic box, a little sand and heat tape. The end.
