yeah steve, if you're handy, you can build a nice cage yourself or maybe you know someone who can. as big as my cage is, it only cost about $100 to build. made of 1 x 3's w/ a styrofoam bottom, it is actually very light & very well ventilated. those overpriced commercial cages lack decent ventilation which is critical for a happy critter!!! anyway, good luck & much success......
