This is a fantastic example of Wood turtle habitat in Massachusetts, very far off the beaten path and has a healthy population of Wood turtles. Places like this are looking to be non-existant in much of Massachusetts the way they've let developement grow out of control. Thanks, Leo

Oh yeah, there's one...right near the fog...and the water...jk. Very beautiful and serene.

Hey Ken ~ Its such a great place! If you look closely at the front of the picture, there is still ice present. This was taken at the time of year when the Wood Turtles are emerging in mid March. Pretty special place. Thanks, Leo

Excellent picture.
As for the state of things in Mass., don't even get me started. The technical de-listing of spotted turtles there simply screams "not okay to own or breed, but fine to pave over." I suppose it doesn't matter to me much in the regard that real estate in the entire state has got so expensive I'd never be able to go back--guess I'll just have to enjoy my spotters here in Japan. Keep the great pics coming!

Thanks for the post and compliments on the photos. It must be a relief to be back in Japan after Mass! Things are out of control here...Habitat fragmentation, cost of living. It piles up pretty high when you think of it all. Its ashame, there are habitats here that can never be replaced once they are all gone. I would really love to move from here, I almost moved to Florida this year but met some resistance with the girlfriends mom. Maybe next year! Thanks, Leo
