My 2 year old reedfoot is not very active. He (?) only comes out to eat, then goes back underneith the hay.I have him in a 3' x 6' pen with a sheet of glass that covers 80% of the top. There is plenty of heat at the open end, along with a 160 watt uvb lamp. The other end has a humidifier hooked up to it.He gets a soaking every other day.He perferrs to eat baby food from them little jars,an will not eat if i put calcium on it.Can somebody help me , or give me some advice?THANKS

Is your tort awake or asleep. My redfoots will spend a great deal of time in their hide looking out. They are wide awake and sort of content to just watch. They look like two cars that have been backed into the garage with the door to the garage open.

If I put them down on the floor when I get home from work they are walking all around.

As long as you keep the substrate damp you may not need the glass cover.

Thank you for your response. He sleeps most of the time while under the hay. I have gotten him up to soak and he will walk around. Then sometimes he will eat and other times he will just go back to hide under the hay. He has normal bowel movements. Is he ok? Thank you for your response!
