sick western fence lizard?

Casper06 Feb 17, 2007 04:05 PM

I've had this fellow since June of 2006, lately he's been eating ALOT, in the past two or so weeks he's eaten at least 15 medium sized crickets. Yesterday alone he ate five. But, as far as I can tell, that's not the problem. He has lots of tiny red dots on his back legs. I was wondering if that was normal or not. His heating and lighting are fine, he was moved to a bigger cage aboiut a month age. Also he's in the middle of shedding. If someone could tell me what might be wrong that would be wonderful.

Thanks!
Emily

Are the red dots MOVING? Sounds like it could be some sort of mites. If you see them moving, treat the poor fella for mites. You can spray his tank with Provent-a-mite (after he is taken out) and you can treat the lizard itself according to the meticulous directions on this website:
