My Toad is blind

xfrogmanx Mar 08, 2007 12:51 PM

Yea i confirmed it my toad is blind. His eyes are cloudy and hes not eating (im assuming because he cant see the crikets).
Also when he jumps in the water he swims around at full speed while twirling in the water as if he dont know what way is up and eventually he gives up and just floats there. Everytime i see this i have to pick him up and put him back on land, one of these times im not gonna be there and hes gonna drown . Anyone have a clue what this could be or how i can cure it? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I'm so sorry for your newt. At feeding time, you could put him in a small container with lots of crickets. Hopefully, with them crawling all over him, he'll lash out and catch some.

I'm sorry I don't have any other ideas for you.

When you say that your tad has cloudy eyes I think of corneal lipidosis first, so you might want to check for other symptoms.
