Greek RNS/RI?? HELP?

killr_silhouette May 30, 2007 05:05 PM

my sister's greek tortoise has discharge coming from its nose & an excessive amount of mucus in its mouth...it seems lethargic and hasnt been eating...

im a snake person, so i dont know what to do?

i put it into a 10gallon with food & water and gave it a heat lamp...

i think shes been keeping it too cool...

what else do i need to do?

with snakes i know you are supposed to keep the humidity high, does this work for tortoises too?...or should it be dry?

any other suggestions?

thanks!
jessica

Get the animal to a vet right away. If the animal is lethargic and manifesting respiratory symptoms, he is beyond whatever good a little extra heat can do. He needs baytril, prescribed by a vet. I wish you luck. Consult the website chelonia.org for more information. They have very valuable caresheets on all sorts of tortoises, with all sorts of nifty pictures for easy identification.
