help with tree frogs

frogmom Aug 10, 2007 07:35 PM

We've had the frogs since Monday. This am, one of the frogs has small orange dots on it's back (like chicken pox) and the other one is starting to get them too. Is this a reaction from stress (I have 2 excited kids around the tank) or from illness? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

That would not be from stress, sounds like a bacterial infection.

Perhaps trying Melafix dips? You can find the instuctions on the Repticzone, tree frog forum threads, search on melafix instructions.

You can find Melafix at aquatics stores and even at Walmarts. I know that there is another product that people use but I don't know the name off hand.

Thank you for your info. The pet store exchanged the frog, so I'm assuming it wasn't stress. Thanks again!
