coluber constrictor ate aspen bedding

wolframite Nov 12, 2007 05:41 AM

My c.c. ate some aspen rather unexpectedly (usually doesn't let food touch the bedding, I tong-feed and she raises up). Is there anything I can do to make sure she passes it ok? Or is she a goner?

Swallowing a little aspen is no big deal. She will be perfectly fine unless it was a complete mouthful of aspen. A few shreds stuck on the food is nothing to worry about.

My snakes also swallow some bark sometimes, don't worry.

That's good to know. It wasn't a full mouthful, but she did decide to coat that mouse pretty good. I could tell she knew it didn't taste right, but devil if she'd let me take it back.

It is not going to harm it. My retic ate a sock once, passed it just fine...long story on how that happened.
