I first applied for my restricted species permit for Heloderma s.suspectum in 2004. I was denied then denied my appeal I finally have a hearing at California Superrior court in March. It has been no cake walk.

California has to be tough..Do you know any private individuals(like yourself) that have these permits already? They may reserve those only for institutions that are more easily monitored such as Zoo's.
If they went on experiance/husbandry hours you would have it already.
Government doesnt recognize private breeding programs as important to the species protection.Even when we understand the species better then the local Zoo.

There are several private breeders that have their permit, but it is just a lot of work to get one here.
