My turtle can't seem to keep food down. When he eats he throws it right back up. He seems otherwise healthy and I can tell that he's hungry and wants to eat. I have a vet appointment on Monday but I wanted to see if anyone else's turtle has had this problem. I'm nervous about what might be wrong with him. Any comments are appreciated.

Thanks.

It sounds like it might be a respiratory infection. My turtle had the same issue, but with a little antibiotics he was fine.
Good luck!

He's a RES. I have been feeding him frozen shrimp, I defrost it. He won't eat anything else right now. He's very picky.

I had a RES a while back and the only time that she ever regurgitated anything was when I fed her the little reddish pink bites. I don't remember what brand they were. Have you tried to feed her any pellets. Like Zoo med or Mazuri?

He used to eat pellets but he won't touch them now. As well as any fruits or vegetables. He's the type where if he likes something, then thats all he'll eat until he's sick of it and then I have to figure out something new. In this case it was the shrimp. He's been eating it for a few weeks now and this past week is when he started throwing up. I actually fed him some ham last night and he ate it and didn't throw it up so I'm thinking maybe the shrimp doesn't agree with him.

I was just wondering how it went with the vet this morning?

He said it wasn't a respiratory infection because there were no other symptoms. He checked him for mouth rot, which there wasn't any. He said he doesn't think the shrimp would cause that but not to give it to him again anyway, and just to keep an eye on him.
