California newt needs help

Yea just like the subject says... my california newt needs help. I dont know if i can put any other newts, salamanders, frogs in with it... my newt is about 5 or 6 inches long... and he is enormosly fat!!! i dont know why but he is as round as a ball... but if somebody could help me to see if i can mix any speices together i would greatly appreciate it. thanks, salamanderG

You should never mix herps together. If you must put something ells in the enclosure put another California Newt in with it. If you post a picture as well as more info on his diet and care we can try to help determine why he is so "round" If you ever feel there is something wrong you should take him to a vet.
