new fat tailed-need bedding advice

lovemyguys Mar 29, 2008 08:50 PM

I just adopted an AFT and I am not sure about the bedding for it. I have read mixed suggestions. I am currently using a beaked moss with a carpet-type surface. I am concerned though that when my little one eats, she's also eating some of the moss. Any suggestions???

How big is your little one? A good thing about the moss is, as long as they don't eat too much, it should digest and pass through with no problem.

Personally I use indoor/outdoor carpet I got from a guy who was doing a putt putt golf course and had left overs. It works well and I have extra to change out so I can wash them when they become soiled. I have a humid hide with some damp eco earth( shredded coconut husk)in it to help with sheds. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. She's about 6-7 inches. Not sure how old really. We adopted her. The store said the family that brought her said she was 7 years and their child "outgrew" her. Sounds fishy. The store said there's no way she's 7 years old. Too small.
She seems healthy, her eating does not seem to be as much as I would think. Her tail is short and very fat which is good I guess? Maybe I'll try to find some kind of bedding more friendly for her eating. She got another mouthful yesterday.
