Banded wolf snake

snakeaddict77 Nov 22, 2008 04:49 PM

I recieved a banded wolf snake about 2 weeks ago along with a pair of mock vipers. The mock vipers ate 2 lizards their first day here but the wolf snake still hasn't eaten. I know snakes can go awhile without eating but I just don't want to take chances. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could get him to eat?

What have you tried?
It may respond to amphibian or reptile scenting, or maybe a washed mouse will work.

They eat skinks and sometimes geckos.

Thx but i've already tried lizards, frogs, and pinkie mice. I tried teasing him with food also instead of just putting him in with it but that didn't work. I'm just gonna open his mouth up and just see if he starts swallowing once it's in his mouth, that's what i'm doing with my sunbeam. Even though it's gonna take some work I'm not gonna give up on him. Thx for the response though! =)

Right now i'm tube feeding him. I'm just going to wait until spring to get him onto live food.
