260 gallon or 310

ive bin doing alot of fabricating for a buddy who owens a pet store and am going to get a 260 gallon tank or 310 gallon tank i have the space and im going to build a filter for it. my question is how many terrapins i could do in both sizes for there entire life. and how i shoud do sex ratio. i will be hybernating them in winter.

I would always just go for the larger tank, extra space and always nice and not having enough space sucks, lol. I am not to sure how many would be a good number(I would think about 6 though, maybe more) and If you want to breed then use 1 male to 2 female ratio.
