eye infections

I have a female spotted w/eyes closed. Ive since put him in warm water to soak and then some eye drops but I feel they are not working cuz the eyes are closed. Before I take him to the vet is there a possible home remedy anyone uses to get the eyes open? Thanx in advance

hopefuly it's an easy fix with drops/ointment.

Just out of curiousity, what is your amonia testing at in your enclosure?..maybe start there, but I'ld still make a vet visit. Good luck
