I was just wondering could a tortoise get paramyxovirus from being in the same room as a snake that was carrying paramyxovirus?

It would seem very likely that the tortoise got it from exposure to the snake unless you are following strict quarantine and sterile technique procedures which is extremely difficult for most hobbyists.
