Retic HOUSING question

traviswyattweber Aug 01, 2010 10:59 AM

I recently acquired this pair of albino retics (pics below).

I'll be putting them in separate cages in the near future and hopefully breed them in the coming years. The purple is a female and the lavender a male.

Is it OK keeping them together for a month or two until I get their permanent cages built? I know 2 males should never be housed together, and obviously, I feed them separately too.

Any downfalls to keeping them together? (They're both less than 1 year old) Any posts to this will be much appreciated!

I have personally housed males and females together in the same cage for various periods of time. It usually had to do with the same issue you are facing with caging. As you have alreay mentioned two males might be an issue especially during breeding season. Good luck with them. I like that purple female.

I've kept my 2 (Male & Female) together for over 2 years. The tangled once but haven't since. Husbandry more is challenging.

Good Luck!!
