Hi! My sulcata tortoise (which I believe is a female, but am not 100% on) has a large red bulge coming out of its back end. I am not sure what this could be, please help! This doesn't look like anything normal!
Thanks!

That is definately a prolapse and you shoud seek the help of a good reptile vet.

That's where a part of the bowel is forced outside of the body for some reason

It happens sometimes if your tortoise is dehydrated. I would definitely take it to a vet. Don't panic though. If treated quickly it will have no ill effects on your tortoise. The vet will probably recommend some extended soaking and maybe a topical ointment.
Good luck!

Put some suger on it. This is some kind of prolapse. Good Luck.

He’s right, differently a prolapse. But I am thinking more the case of a parasitic infection like worms or Protozoa.
Sugar is an excellent idea it is both an antibiotic and reduces swelling.
Soaking is a good idea and keeping the area as clean as possible.
Also confine the animal so she doesn’t drag around and further injure the prolapse
Stop feeding last thing we want is more stool

Get to the vet is the best idea
