I have a bearded dragon male that is about 2.5 years old. He has done very well for me but, in the last week he has developed a lump on his lower jaw near his mouth opening and he has bubbles coming out of his mouth if you gently squeeze him. I am pretty sure that their is an upper resperatory infection and possibly a secondary bacterial infection in the mouth due to the abnormal swelling. He is still eating fine and I am going to take him to the vet next week, but I just wanted to know if anyone has dosed a adult bearded dragon with baytril before and does it work well for them.

Antibiotics are directed towards a pathogen, not a patient. Thus, what worked in one dragon will not work in another. Baytril is an excellent antibiotic, but it's not a "cure-all".

So I went to see my vet today about my beardie with what I thought could be URI and possibly a bacterial infection in his mouth and it turns out no URI. He does have a bacterial infection in his mouth but it is not mouth rot either. He has a bone cancer in his mandible on the right side. The puss and infection comes from the bone that it growing rapidly and leaking into his jaw. This is very odd because he is only 3 years old. Just another reason to have a herp vet and take your animals in when you think something is wrong.

Do you have any oblique shots of the jaw? Left lower mandible? How positive are they that it is cancer? Why not an infection that has worked into the bone? That would explain the degradation seen on the radiograph as well.

Just some thoughts anyhow; a biopsy, or testing for a response to targeted antibiotic therapy might help...
