corn snake done for?

leo_boy Apr 11, 2011 08:17 AM

Have had this corn for 10 years and recently moved him into a rack system with my ball python collection. He had swelling in his bottom gums so I brought him to the vet and she gave him a shot, the swelling went down so I thought he was out of the woods. That was a little more than a month ago and I open the tub today to see this

I don't know if you can tell from the photo but that is actually a cavity. Do you think he can survive or is he going to be put down?

I would get him back to the vet, if it was an abscess that ruptured and he is otherwise healthy, this could be an easy fix, but if its neoplastic, your vet can guide you to come up with the best course of action to take. good luck and let us know what happens, we can all learn from what each other goes through.

Looks like an abscess to me too. I would definitely go back to the vet, your vet may not specialize in reptiles and you might need to seek a different opinion. Good Luck
