Burmese Star Issue

terrygar Jan 10, 2012 02:15 PM

Hello I have a 7yr Burmese Star that is 7 lbs, we live in South Florida and she has a 10'x20' private garden of shady plants and open sun areas.
I have noticed a white area of her shell It is located above her right and left rear legs on the shell.
What am I doing wrong here or is it environmental. She is very healthy and eats well. She gets everything she needs and we have a great vet in the area.
Please help if you can.
Terry

I would be wondering if she was rubbing that area against something in her enclosure - stone retaining wall. Something like that. That looks like where her shell flares out.
She's a beautiful tortoise. You're doing a great job with her...
