CB2012 Senticolis triaspis intermedia

Ryan_Sikola Oct 19, 2012 12:54 AM

Santa Ritas locality. These are from captive bred, unrelated parents.

I am in awe of this. 92 days incubation low 80s, high 70s. I almost lost hope in these eggs ever hatching.

1.2 is a pretty good ration in my opinion

Good job, Ryan! I always figure about 90 days of incubation for mine. My Pajarito locale babies started hatching on day 86 and my Santa Rita locale babies started hatching on day 93...

Thanks, I'm so happy about this trio. Years of planning... and last years clutch failing really discouraged me. I think last years clutch failed because my female was obese with fat rolls and I think this years were better off because her diet really has her looking normal.

Well, you did something right, for certain...

I know about being discouraged when it comes to incubating this species' eggs. I have had pretty good luck getting the eggs to hatch, when they are fertile - but my problem has been in getting very minor deformities in many of the offspring. None affect the snakes' lives, but they do make them undesirable to most people...
