A different kind of Milk Snake hunter

tspuckler Jun 13, 2013 07:29 PM

I was walking a trail along a waterway, when off in the distance I could see a mink.

It was apparent that the animal caught a snake.

What was really odd was that it came running toward me with it (though eventually it dove into the underbrush).

Around here mink are rather shy, so it was unusual to observe this behavior. Though I was kind of bummed out about the snake.

Cool series of pictures! Hate it for the snake but that's how it goes.

Thanks for sharing.

Those are cool photos. I've never seen either of those animals in wild. Poor snake.

Great pics…I was riding my bike about 2 weeks ago when a mink ran in front of my bike (almost ran him over) w/a chipmunk in his mouth (the chipmunk was almost 1/3 the size of the small mink….lunch). Minks are cool little animals to see in the wild. I live in Delaware OH(just a little south of you)and a Mink for me are a rare sighting.
Thanks for sharing Tim.
