panting dragon

sierra Jan 03, 2014 05:58 PM

My dragon has been taking deep breaths lately. Seems fine most of the time. eating well but every minute or so he takes a deep breath. Is this a respiratory infection and if so what should I do?

any help would be appreciated

Increase cage size. The most common cause of this behavior in bearded dragons is trying to cool off. If it already has a large case try reducing the "fat" in its diet as young and older adults are primarily herbivores. It could be over-weight. If neither of these are the case then best of wishes as I cannot identify anything else based on provided information.
