al room, as everyone's I'm sure routinely has a pretty rough odor about 2-3 days after I feed lol.I eas wondering if anyone has come up with or has found a product that works well to neutralize the fecal aromatics?I'm definately not looking forstuff like "try some patchouli andsandalwood incents lol. I was looking more fore something like an air purifier or something in that direction. Thhe main animal room that seems to produce the most funk throughout the house is extremely small.Pretty much a tiny closet type area. Thanks so mmuch and have an awesome day! Mike

I use a Renuzit Apple & Cinnamon air freshner in the snake room. That seems to cut through the odors some what. But the best way to eliminate reptile odors is to clean the cages as soon as possible. The odor is caused by the decay of the feces by bacteria. Kill the bacteria and the odor is almost instantly gone. I use diluted chorahexidine also called novasan or virosan in its diluted form. Safe for the animals, cleans cages well, kills most germs, and the odor is gone as soon as the cage is cleaned. Bill

I agree with Bill about the Nolvasan (or chlorhexidine gluconate). I use it as well, and it removes the odor better than soap or Windex or anything else that you find at a local market.

His advice about cleaning the cages soon is also helpful in combating the worst odor.

Seems that boa and pythons smell worse, but that could be due to sheer volume of waste with those animals. I have a very small snake room. Not very many snakes anymore. When I clean cages routinely and use the chlorhexidine, the room has no odor most of the time. It is a requirement for me to keep the room smelling as if there are no animals in it. Wife's rules.
