markg Aug 08, 2014 01:06 PM

Wondering if anyone has successfully switch a night snake onto pinks.

I have one eating thawed anoles. Just started scenting thawed pinks, no luck yet.

Thanks for any info/help.

On the field herpers forum there was some great info. Captive nightsnakes have eaten lizards, lizard eggs, smaller night snakes, rubber boas, rosyboa (DOR baby) and frogs. It is reported that they do not eat mice in the wild, and it looks like they have no interest in pinky mice.

I doubt they have interest in rodents in the wild but I have heard of plenty captive individuals that would eat scented mice then switch over to unscented no problem. Have a friend in AZ that would tie a lizard then a hopper then another hopper all in a row then his night snakes would eat one each. Used to have pics that he sent me, I'll see if I can dig them up.
