Flavia Guimaraes Sep 22, 2011 07:59 PM

Hi.My name is Flavia.9 months ago i bought a female beta fish. She was doing fine.Eating well, happy etc...One week ago i noticed she had a bump on the beggining of her tail.I thought she was gravid. Then she started to weird swim. She swims on her sides or upside down. But she is still eating well but the bump is still there too.Whats going on?

Thanks for any advice.

Flavia

It sounds like she's constipated (swim bladder disorder). Feed her a frozen pea per day for 5 days. It should clear up. If it doesn't, you can continue to give her a pea a day. Be on the look out for poop. Also, reduce the amount of food you are feeding her. She should only be fed once a day, and only as much as she can eat in about 2 minutes.
