painteds and res

can i put red eareds and painteds together in the same tank and keep them long term

Hatchlings can be ok together but as they grow they'll have to be separated. The RES will be larger than the painted, painteds tend to be an aggressive species, eventually they'll fight. Long term it's very likely that being together won't work out.

Ive always found RES to be much more aggressive than painted turtles. I personally would only keep RES that are smaller than the painteds in the same tank, but none for long term.
