I was wondering if anyone knows of an acceptable way to euthanize a baby box turtle. I live in NY and it would probably cost way too much to take him to a vet. He seems to have developed paralyzed limbs which I read about in Tess's book. He also has developed what I think may be eye infections. His left eye is kinda sunken in due to what I think was another turtle in his pen fighting with him. His face is all messed up also. I have been putting neosporin on it to try and heal him. It has healed up ok but you can barely see his eyeball. His right eye is closed I have tried soaking him in warm water but nothing really works You can just barely see an eyeball. I have him in a first aid tank but every day he is just laying in the same spot I leave him in. His head just hangs out of his shell on the newspaper. He makes no attempt to pull his head in if I touch it or move it around. He just looks so sad and I feel terrible. Its like I am waiting to find him dead and its just not happening. I am still trying to feed him but he barely can eat. Any help would be appreciated.
