I drove from WA state to Maine almost five yrs ago with a cat and a dog. I was by myself. I had my cat in a harness and leash. I had a litter box in the car for her to use. If you do decide to stop at hotels be careful. I almost lost Crash. When I went out of the room the door didn't shut fast enough and she got out with me realizing it. Luckly I found her at the bottom of the stairs. So if you do leave the room make sure to put them all back into their carriers before going out. How many hours is your trip? I drove 20 hrs a day for four days give or take a few hrs depending on how I felt.
