Bless you for keeping this problem kitty. My initial reaction is to pick out a couch you really like and then cover it with plastic sheeting and towels to protect it, then whip off the covers when company is due!

Probably leather would be better for cleaning, although smells and stains could get into it permanently. Which are you more comfortable with - cleaning the covers or cleaning the leather?
