I took my 18 yr old cat to vet as he was drinking lots of water and was losing weight; bloodwork was performed and vet said his kidneys were affected; he did not have diabetes. He said BUN was 45. My cat was eating very well and often, but most recently his appetite is not there and it is difficult to get anything in him; is this the progression of the disease? I realize the cat is quite old; I don't want him to suffer in any way; is there anything I can do?
