As for hosing the cage, don't you clean his enclosure now? Same difference. You carry the mesh cage outside, spray it with a hose, let it dry, bring it back in. I'm sure it could be wiped off, I just hose it as a part of maintenance every now and again and change the paper when he soils it. Maybe my ig isn't very snalty. Then again, I have something like 15 snakes and 15 lizards, so hosing the cage of one iguana isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things where everyone is hungry and pooping on a daily basis!
