Hi,

I have wondered about this very thing myself and this is what I have come up with.

I believe that our cats pick up on very subtle changes in our routines and the way we are acting and this puts them on alert. We may think that we are going about our normal routine, but perhaps cats can sense something different. Maybe we move around a little different, or we are a little anxious and they pick up on that. In the case of a flea product, they may be reacting to the sound of the package being opened, or even the smell of the product, especially if they have had the same stuff before.

Or maybe they actually read our minds........kind of a scary thought!
