Krystle, I'm sorry to hear that you are unable to get needed veterinary care for your cats. Somehow you are going to have to. You adopted them two weeks ago, didn't you realize they would need vet care? You may need to return them so they can get the help they need.
It is irresponsible to give an antibiotic without a diagnosis. Cats, for example, get a disease called stomatitis that affects their mouths, and antibiotics will do nothing to help this. If there is periodontal disease or an abcess or broken teeth or a number of other possible problems, antibiotics will do nothing.
Most frighteningly, cats who don't eat get a disease called hepatic lipidosis, which is often fatal, and if it isn't, is treated with several days hospitalization and is VERY expensive.
Please do the right thing and beg, borrow, or steal to get these kits to the vet right away. They deserve to have a veterinarian examine them and determine what the problem is. ----- Christie Keith Caber Feidh Scottish Deerhounds Holistic Husbandry since 1986 Meet the Felines!
