I'd rather take my chances with something a little more dangerous that I know my local hospital has had experience with than go with an exotic with a milder venom. Maybe it's just me, but I'm more comfortable knowing that the hospital located six miles from my house has, at one time or another, treated bites from every venomous snake I own.
