Welcome to kingsnake.com's message board system. The Russian tortoise(Testudo horsfieldii) is a small tortoise species, ranging from 5 - 8 inches for males, 6 - 10 inches for females. They are sexually dimorphic in that the females grow slightly larger. Coloration varies, but the shell is usually a ruddy brown or black, fading to yellow between the scutes, and the body itself straw-yellow and brown. They have four toes.
The spur-thighed tortoise (Testudo graeca) or Greek tortoise is one of four European members of the Testudinidae family of tortoises. The other members of the family are Hermann's tortoise (Testudo hermanni), the Marginated tortoise (Testudo marginata) and Russian Tortoise (Testudo horsfieldii).
Here you may post messages or questions pertaining to all aspects and issues regarding the keeping, breeding, health, and conservation of species and subspecies of Tortoises.
Show off your tortoises and upload your pictures to our Tortoise Photo Gallery! Don't forget to check out our other tortoise related forums.
